The Pit and the Pendulum take two
"As I was holing on for dear life my mind was going in circles, what do they want of me , am I just some poor defenselss animal in a sick game of torment. What right to they have to be holding me capture like this. The walls were getting hotter as they moved closer to the pit. I had to balance myself carfully on the edge trying my best not to touch the wall. That was hard to do being as week as I was. I finally had to touch the wall to keep from falling, at the singly toudh of it the scorching heat burned my whole hand. All I could hear was my blood rushing through my vains as i knew in the next few minutes my death would come. But out pure hope I heard trumpets and I look up as I did i lost my balance and slipped but I cought myself on the edge. Holding onto dear life slowly slipping I knew that would not get to me in time. So I closed my eyes and just let go. My pain was gone and the last thing I saw was who was waiting for me."

"Team Poe" or "Team Irving"
When I read I love the stories that have happly ever after endings. But the doesn't mean I dont like the gruesome side of storys as well. So there for I am in between. It all depends on what kind of mood I am in. But with the beauty of both writers, they can describe things in words were you can picture it in your mind. Which is what I love about these two authors.

Romatic Poem Reflection
The one poem that stayed in my mind this whole week was the poem by James Russell Lowell "The First Snowfall" and I just kept thinking to myself on how can someone even do that. With just writing your feelings down, how can you get your point across? But he did just that and even though people can take poems in differently, this was could only be seen in one way. To me it was on how he put together the beauty of the first snowfall with the death of his daughter. That is just amazing. This poem did really touch me. I just wish I could have that very special talent.

Nature
Sorry about my voki, but this was what it was going to say. That nature is the one beautiful thing that everyone can experience. How through the seasons, each one teaches us to survive and live on. Trees show us just that with leaves to green and alive in the summer or so colorful in the fall. Or maybe in the winter when there are no leaves at all. But no worries when spring time comes around we start the world again with new baby buds beginning to grow and recreate a beautful world just like before.

Elia/ Arthur
http://movies.nytimes.com/movie/293561/Arthur-Miller-Elia-Kazan-and-the-Blacklist-None-Without-Sin/overview After what this summary had said it shows a lot what people do under pressure. this said that Arthur and Elia were close friends and had history. But once the 1950's came that all changed. With the communist hunt and when Arthur refused to name names, Elia was different. Over time they have come to differnece but one could never forget what that meant for each other. When Arthur wrote The Crucible about the salem witch trail and the communtist hunt, Elia directed On the Waterfront showing why he did this. In the end anyone can be pushed to do something thay do not want to do.

The Crucible

Talking about act. 1 was very interesting because I got to understand the characters a little better than what i origanally thought they were. I thought is was very interesting about the author, Arthor Miller, on how he made this play to have a meaning. I think his writting is great and how he playes with fiction and non fiction is awesome.

Puritan plain Style
I was sitting in the library one day at school and I was looking through the window and thought that some windows you can see one way but not the other. Almost as if that same window is keeping us from seeing God. But he can watch our every move. Because of this simple window can portray such a big purpose in a religious life, that is why God made everything for a purpose. He is leading us in ways only some may understand.

Squanto
Squanto was very important to the pilgrims of the mayflower, for he knew there language. Which was probably the best thing that could happen to the pilgrim so there was not that same clash that happened with the crew of Jamestown. But because of earlier english explorers and settlers the some Native Americans were slowly understanding their langauge. But because of the devoution of squanto and the help he gave the pilgrims, the pilgrims survived to the thanks of Squanto.

Jamestowns first encounter of the native Americans
In this picture called the "Jamestowns Massacre" it shows that the Native Americans are attacking the settlers of Jamestown, which did not happen. For ones reason it did not happen because Pocahontas was the advisor and favorite daughter of the chief and told him that their village should live in peace. She help Captain John Smith out by preventing his exectution. Also in this picture there is no wall surrounding Jamestown which there would be because there are females in the picture which came upon the next ship of supplies to them. And by that time there were only a few members of the first crew left and so there was not the many people. I also think there is bias in this picture just because if you see how they drew the native Americans and how wild they all look. It just shows on how liable pictures are.

Native American Visions
So in class this week we are watching viseos on Native American culture and the many legends on how the world was created in their views. Native American culture really interests me with all of the unique ceremonyies and the music is my favorite. So when I came home I asked my family if they knew any call facts or legends on Natives Americans and this is what I got. I read a first hand example of a vision quest from an Oklahoma Native American whose name is Joseph Epses Brown. Where in his vision he walked in the four directions and saw an eagle flying toward him and he was seeing all of these different birds like a woodpecker telling him "be attentive and have no fear". At night thunder birds filled the sky he said and he was afraid but he prayed to Wakan-Takan. he would then here voices and remember what the bird told him that he should "be attentive and have no fear"
