Elia/ Arthur

http://movies.nytimes.com/movie/293561/Arthur-Miller-Elia-Kazan-and-the-Blacklist-None-Without-Sin/overview After what this summary had said it shows a lot what people do under pressure. this said that Arthur and Elia were close friends and had history. But once the 1950's came that all changed. With the communist hunt and when Arthur refused to name names, Elia was different. Over time they have come to differnece but one could never forget what that meant for each other. When Arthur wrote The Crucible about the salem witch trail and the communtist hunt, Elia directed On the Waterfront showing why he did this. In the end anyone can be pushed to do something thay do not want to do.

  1. i agree that when someone is pressured or forced to do something, they will usually do it. just like how when prisoners of war are tortured, sometimes they give up false information just because it is just what their caputerers want to hear.

  2. I liked that you found this article. There is a PBS show about them, too. Thanks for summarizing the article.
